Congratulations to Jesse James Monette
Jesse competed in his first amature mma match and won very convincingly in the second round by rear naked choke.

COMPETITION TEAM UPDATE
The JKS team has been diligent in their dedication to the intense training and the hard work has paid off. The JKS team just returned from the UFC Fan expo in Toronto on April 29th and 30th and with less than 6 weeks of hard training we brought home 2 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. JKS won a medal in almost every division we entered. Way to go Team JKS.

Jesse James Monette Shooting His Way to the Top
Last November has been full month of solid performances from 20 year Jesse Monette. Jesse who is one of the instructors at JKS Martial Arts School competed in both Boxing & Grappling tournaments/ competition coming away with medals in each endeavor.
First on November 5th he had his first amateur boxing match which was hosted at the Underdog Gym in Montreal where he competed at 144lbs in the 139lbs to 145lbs weight class. His bout went the full three rounds with him winning on points 9 to 1. and receiving a 1st place medal.
On November 7th at the Randori 6 Grappling Tournament hosted @ Gamma Gym Jesse competed at 140 lbs in the 155 and under class. Jesse just learning the grappling game under 6 months participated in the One year and under division.
In his first two matches ended almost identical with him submitting both of his opponents with a standing rear naked choke. The third match he won against a fellow JKS teammate with a guillotine choke.
The fourth and final match which would decide who would end off with first place and Jesse won on points to win the gold medal and first place.
Then on November 19th he entered the Silver Gloves Tournament in Chicoutimi at 137 lbs fighting the 131-138 weight division. Winning his 1st bout but losing the second bout on points coming away with the silver medal.
Motivated by his performance and knowing he can only get better with more experience Jesse is training harder at JKS with a mindset to have a commitment to excellence, and to excel in all facets of the fight game.
